Stupidity is part of Rafael Spregelburd’s Heptalogy of Hieronymus Bosch, seven plays loosely tied to the seven deadly sins — this one stands in for avarice.
Set in a rundown Las Vegas motel, it braids together a string of get-rich-quick schemes: a couple trying to win big at the casino, a stolen painting on the move, a tabloid chasing the secret of the universe, and three cops caught in a fraught, sign-language-heavy story of love and betrayal — all crashing into each other at once.
Directed by Ivana Đilas, the production premiered at the Slovene National Theatre Nova Gorica on May 21, 2015.
