Text by Ivan Vyrypaev
Ivan Vyrypaev’s Life No. 2 is built like a nesting doll: a psychiatric patient, Antonina Velikanova, writes a play and sends it to Vyrypaev himself, who appears as a character, padding it out with comic verses and his own notes around the scenes she supposedly wrote. As the author puts it, the real main character of the play is the text itself — the show keeps circling back to question the basic tools of theatre: representation, narration, the comfort of sitting in the audience watching.Directed by Anja Suša, the production premiered at the Belgrade Drama Theatre in 2006, starring Milena Pavlović, Ivan Tomić and Daniel Sič.
