Casimir and Caroline / Kazimir i Karolina / 2014

Text by Ödön von Horváth

Ödön von Horváth’s 1932 play follows Casimir, just laid off as a chauffeur, and his girlfriend Caroline through one night at Oktoberfest, as unemployment and money worries pull them apart in real time.

The production won the Sterija Award for best costume design at the Sterijino pozorje festival in Novi Sad and best costume design at the International Small Scene Theatre Festival in Rijeka, both in 2015. Reviewers for Radio Belgrade 2, Danas and RTS all singled out the costume work, praising how closely it tracked each character alongside Snežana Trišić’s direction and Darko Nedeljković’s set design.

Directed by Snežana Trišić, the production premiered at Atelje 212 in Belgrade in December 2014.
