Ira Ratej’s script sends two curious kids, A and Ž, past the doorman and into everything a theatre usually keeps hidden — the workshops, the wardrobe, the props room, the stage manager’s booth, the sound and light desks.
Built as an interactive lesson for young audiences, it turns backstage staff who rarely get named on a poster into the real subject of the show, following the nervous energy that goes into building any production.
Directed by Ivana Đilas, it premiered at the Slovene National Theatre in Maribor on September 26, 2015, and has stayed in repertoire for years since.
