Sheitan Warrior / Šejtanov Ratnik / 2006

Sheitan Warrior is Stevan Filipović’s debut feature, a teen horror-comedy about a trio of Belgrade high schoolers who dig up an old esoteric book, summon an ancient demon, and then have to find a way to send it back.

Shot on a shoestring budget by a group of friends who had been working toward it since their student years, it was received as a fresh, self-aware entry in Serbian genre cinema and won the Grand Prix at Slovenia’s Grossmann Fantasy Film Festival.

It premiered in Serbian cinemas in 2006 and has since become something of a cult favorite.
