You’re Lying, Melita / Lažeš Melita / 2008

Based on Ivan Kušan’s classic children’s novel, the play follows Melita, a girl who believes nothing bad can happen as long as she never tells the truth — spinning increasingly wild stories until the line between her imagination and reality starts to blur.It’s less a lesson about lying than about why people invent stories in the first place: to be liked, to be noticed, to feel loved.Directed by Bojan Đorđev, with dramatization by Sena Đorović, the production premiered at the Little Theatre Duško Radović in Belgrade on October 23, 2008.
